New laptop

This is my first post from my new laptop HP Pavilion dv 6755ee :D

Overall, I am happy with what I am experiencing till now, except for:

1- The fans opening is placed at the bottom of the laptop, which causing it to go on high temperature fast!
2- There is something wrong about the text in some applications in Vista (like visual studio 2008), it’s somehow blurry, I googled it and found some posts that didn’t help; suggesting to take off ClearType or set a dpi option that is already checked!

I will keep searching for a solution and see what I will come up with. Will keep you posted ;)

    Congratulations on the new laptop :) I take it its the first machine with Vista you have owned? The ‘blur’ around on screen text is indeed due to Microsoft Cleartype (http://www.microsoft.com/typography/cleartypeInfo.mspx), a technology present in Windows since XP but only enabled as per default in Vista. It is designed on TFT monitors to allow a better text viewing experience and can take a few hours to get used to. However, once you do – you will switch all your boxes in to Cleartype. :)

    Thanks a lot :) and yes, this is the first machine with Vista I have ever owned. Having some time passed now, I think I am accommodating to it, and hating it less and less :P . I hope the day in which i will change my boxes in to ClearType is near :D

    Mobarak the new laptop, & as i said before it was not designed to be placed in your lap while working, so stop complaining about the fans openings, to have a fan openings better than not :)

    Since you are going to place it in your lap, think about advantages in winter season :)
